    • Dave,

I have updated the listing for you. Question are you sure it was New Years Honour as the NZDF Website had it as Queens Birthday?

    Hi Frank,

It was definitely a New Year’s Honour. Commander David Wright, then CO PH, was awarded the MNZM at the same time and we went down to Wellington in the following April to Government House for the formal ceremony.

    Rgds,
    Dave

I was wondering if those of us Communicators who have received the Chief of Navy award might also be recognised (at the bottom of the page). I know you once described it to me in terms of a “Bauble” however something must have been done to deserve such recognition.
In respect to that the 80th anniversary of the sinking of HMS Puriri is 2021 14th of May at 1100 at Whangarei Heads commemorative event is planned (more to come)
