When HMNZS WAIKATO first commissioned in the 1960’s five paintings were kindly donated by Hamilton artist Mr R Starr. The paintings were hung in different locations within the ship. It is believed that this painting was hung in the Wardroom. Can anyone especially those who served on first commission remember seeing this painting hanging in the wardroom? The image is from a newspaper cutting of the time. Click on image to enlarge.
