Ques – What was the LF receiver installed on the ICS Leanders and what was special about it?

Answer – Outfit CJD. The front end had valves installed to supposedly counteract electromagnetic pulses (EMP) from a nuclear explosion. This would allow VLF/LF transmissions to still be received.

  1. albert cross says:

Outfit CJD (replaced the B.41) LF receiver for unattended reception . Information on this set was limited although being all valves in the “Front End” made it ideal for operation after a Nuclear blast. (subect to Operator availabilty.)
