If this is a modern day Gollie what is he doing ashore for the last four years – In “My” day would have done four trips and a weekend at the Comms School in that time

    • gunther says:

aahhh those were the day. remember max watt and steve ebrey on taranaki , seemed like they were always in their pits.. with the odd turnout in the office to do some dial turning.

      • Jim D says:

…and the reason that you knew they were always in their pits was because you were always in yours recovering from mal de mer!

      • gunther says:

no..not true..if truth be known it was because they would suddenly turn up at the office (bwo) and we would ask “who are you” and they would have to produce “id” don mcmurray was the pew and we would have to get him up from the aft po’s to confirm who the two killick ew’s were..

  2. Frank Rands says:

    Dave,

He is not a Gollie – He is a member of the new Communicators Branch known as Communication Warfare Specialists.

  3. Dave Wistrand says:

Don’t be pedantic Frank and ruin a good story – got some of the right words in the title

  4. Casper says:

Why are they in their pyjamas?

  5. John Bullock says:

…. plus he does not have a “pillow” for a branch badge!
