Rank Abbreviations

The Navy Museum has asked for some assistance in identifying some ranks descriptions. Please leave a comment if you can assist.  Some of these ranks look incomplete to me.

LSG – Leading Signalman
EM [1]/EM [2] – EM1/ EM2 Electrical Mechanic 1st Class/ 2nd Class
ACS – Able Control of Shipping
ME1 – Marine Engineer 1st Class
AMM – Able Marine Mechanic
CPOMF -Chief Petty Office Marine Fitter
AWLFM – Able Weapons Fitter Mate,
CMEA – Chief Marien Engineer Articifer
A/CL [S] –
LME – Leading Marine Engineer
POME – Petty Officer Marine Engineer
PREM – Petty Officer Radio Electrical Mechanic
WOM –  Could be WO Musician, WO Medical Assistant, WO Master at Arms, WO Radio Mechanic etc etc
PORS – Petty Officer Radio Supervisor
LSWP – Leading Seaman Weapons (normally followed by 1st or 2nd Class)
T-LRO – Temporary Leading Radio Operator
CSG – Chief Signalman
POCEA – Petty Officer Control Electrical Artificer
ARM – Able Radio Mechanic
CRE – Chief Radio Electrician
ARF – Able Radio Fitter
OCR – Unknown but if this was OCTR it would be Ordinary Communications Training Recruit
ALF – Able Electrical Fitter
ASO – Assistant Supply Officer
MEA – Marine Engineer Articifer
LMF – Leading Marine Fitter
REM – REM1/REM2 Radio Electrical Mechanic 1st Class/2nd Class

    Christ! You’d think the Museum would be able to get answers thru the Navy Records (Archives)
    Surely there must be some “Drafty” records in existence?

    ACS = Able Control of Shipping ( i was one for a day) this is an old rank
    now AMTO = Able Maritime Trade Oganisation which is part of the VR trades.
